Shows stages 2-9 in the breast cancer suffered by Mrs Broadbent of Leeds from late 1840 to early 1841. The watercolours are silhouetted to the shape of the cancerous area, and stitched together at one side so that the entire sequence can be flicked through. For stage 1 see the separate half-length portrait of her, Wellcome Library catalogue no. 665377i.
